Entry #2: The Rise Of Mobile Gaming
What Is Mobile Gaming?
Now you may be asking yourself why did I end up asking such a simple question, to be fair, the definition is in the name itself. But I want to take a deeper look into it and its growing expanse of users/content. When you think of mobile games, the mind tends to go to games such as Candy Crush or FarmVille, while those are mobile games, I want to take a look into the "hardcore" style of games. Over the years there's been a rise in console-like games coming over to mobile devices such as PUBG, Call Of Duty, and most recently The Division with even a port of the popular PC game, Valorant. Mobile gaming was always a big deal overseas especially in countries like Japan and India, the sales as shown in the data from https://www.statista.com/topics/9839/mobile-gaming-in-india/#topicOverview.

The Expansion Into The West
The amount of companies wanting to bring their console/pc games to mobile is insane! Mobile gaming is becoming bigger and bigger every year with phone companies making phones and tablets dedicated for gaming, even Apple's new iPhone 15 Pro models are pushing the limits with mobile gaming by bringing some of the greatest rated games to its devices within the next year. Now of course, gaming is a business avenue so we have to bring up money. And well, mobile gaming brings in A LOTTT of it, it's no wonder why companies now are looking into how to expand their IPs into the mobile market. There's a bigger reach than pc/console, tons more people have phones compared to console so the install base is already enormous, games on mobile usually tend to be free but can capitalize off of the player base by adding in cosmetics, seasonal passes, and subscriptions. Now this may be a bit biased because I myself am an avid mobile gamer with that being my main way of play despite having a console and pc.
The Mobile Audience Continues To Grow
The gaming aspect itself isn't the only part about mobile gaming that's growing but the amount of video creators tuned towards the mobile audience, like me, are also on the rise. With companies reaching out to these creators to give them early access to a game to get their viewers interested and to bring awareness to the game that's being shown. But that's just the tip of the iceberg with what mobile gaming is doing in the market, it's going to be an interesting next couple of years to see just how much it evolves! Especially with mobile e-sports being a rising thing alongside pc/console e-sports, mobile also has a hardcore scene of some of the most competitive games! Mobile gaming all in all is a fun and maybe easier way to get into the gaming world but also offer convenience of doing so like using a device that you always have on you regardless and is easily accessible.
