Entry #7: The Story We All Need To Hear

Entry #6: Christmas festivities are upon us

Now don't come at me for making this before Halloween but Christmas is my favorite holiday and time of the year! Whether it's the beautiful snow or the amazing lights and parades that happen all season round, there is just immaculate joy in the air that can't be topped. The time to be with family or friends, sit by the fireplace, cook smores, watch Christmas movies, the activities are endless. Even with being in a place like phoenix where there isn't snow, there's still tons to love about the winter season.

Christmas cheer 

When we hear Christmas our mind immediately goes to presents and gifts but as we got older, Christmas got an even deeper meaning, it was a time where we could come together whether it be friends or family, from close or from afar. Having our annual traditions of sitting together enjoying the yummy cooked turkey or ham, the smell omitting from the oven as its being opened to check if its ready. The laughs echoing the rooms as we all share jokes and stories while potentially having a drink or two, if you're old enough that is, the party games like uno, monopoly, etc. Especially if a family member has the switch, that definitely time for some friendly competition in games like Mario kart and smash bros. Now I said it wasn't about the gifts but come on, it's Christmas, even if we get the adult presents like clothes or gift cards. It's still fun to watch the younger siblings or family open up their gifts, the bright smiles that fill their faces as the excitement takes over them.

Final thoughts

While all holidays can have their fair share of traditions and festivities or if you don't celebrate Christmas, there's just something in the air for everybody during the winter season. I can't be more excited for the coming months, even with working retail and having "that" holiday rush, you can't be too upset with all the joy going around, its almost infectious.
